Woodlands Car Club revs up donations for Woodforest Charitable Foundation, benefiting three Montgomery County Charities

Woodlands Car Club and WCF donate $7,500 to three local charities

SHENANDOAH, TEXAS - Shenandoah Mayor Garry Watts recently joined The Woodlands Car Club in presenting proceeds from their annual Evening Fall Car Show to the Woodforest Charitable Foundation and three local non-profit charities.

The Woodlands Car Club routinely participates in several small shows, but the Evening Fall Car Show is a unique event that features vintage, exotic and high-end collectible cars.  In the past nine years, The Woodlands Car Club has donated over $50,000 to charitable organizations throughout Montgomery County.

The 2010 check presentations took place at the Shenandoah City Council meeting on Wednesday, December 8th.  The donations were made possible through the efforts of The Woodlands Car Club, generating more than $7,500 from their 2010 Evening Fall Car Show. 

Checks from the proceeds of the car show were presented to: Montgomery County Youth Services, The Friendship Center and The Montgomery County Women’s Center.  Each organization received $2,500 – an additional contribution to the funds they received from the Foundation in September.

“The non-profit charities in Montgomery County serve such an important purpose.  There are many people who benefit from these organizations and we can help serve them through our support.  Even the smallest donations add up and make a big difference,” said Dana Pritchard, car club President.

The Woodlands Car Club was founded in March 2001 by a local group of car enthusiasts to create friendships, fellowship, foster relationships with local business and community, create awareness for and give back to local non-profit organizations in Montgomery County.  The Car Club is comprised of a small group of volunteers that are very dedicated and enthusiastic about the overall mission to support non-profit agencies that serve the community in a variety of ways.
