Woodforest Charitable Foundation donates $1,300 to High Plains Food Bank

High Plains Food Bank Receives $1,300 Donation

AMARILLO, TX – High Plains Food Bank welcomes a $1,300 gift in support of their Kids Café Program.

Kids Café is an after-school feeding program of the High Plains Food Bank, which partners with local agencies to provide free nutritious meals to children at risk of hunger.  In addition to providing meals to kids, Kids Café sites also offer a safe place, where under the supervision of trustworthy staff, a child can get involved in educational, recreational and social activities.

“Thank you so much for your kind donation to the High Plains Food Bank’s Kids Café Program,” said Zachary Wilson, Executive Director of High Plains Food Bank.  “In 2009, over 131,000 meals were served at our Kids Café locations.  The Woodforest Charitable Foundation’s donation will enable us to continue to serve hot, nutritious meals to children that might not receive dinner otherwise.”
