Habitat for Humanity home built in Montgomery County.
13-July, 2013
Montgomery County, TX – Woodforest National Bank employees, family and friends recently held a dedication ceremony for their first Habitat for Humanity home build in the Cedar Creek development of Conroe, TX. Construction of the two-bedroom home began in early January and was completed after more than 120 volunteer hours to the project.
Patricia Brown, Sr. Vice President of Woodforest, stated, “We are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity and to realize, first hand, what can be accomplished when we all work together. It was so rewarding to work alongside the homeowners and to witness the pride they took in building their very own home from the ground up.”
After completing 350 hours of “sweat equity” and a homeownership course, Conroe residents, Santana and Maria Hernandez received the keys to their new home and celebrated with their family, the Woodforest team, and Habitat staff and board members at the dedication.
“We are grateful to Woodforest and the support they provided the Hernandez family. Their commitment to the community and to helping our Cedar Creek neighbors sets a remarkable example for the county,” said Barbara Smith, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, Montgomery County.
