Woodforest National Bank Makes a Donation to the Local Habitat for Humanity Chapter
MARSHALL, Texas (April, 2009) - Woodforest Charitable Foundation recently made a $3,625 donation to Habitat for Humanity of the Marshall Area.
As a part of their recent branch managers meeting held in Marshall, TX, Woodforest National Bank awarded the local Habitat for Humanity of the Marshall Area with a donation of $3,625 from the Woodforest Charitable Foundation. Debbie Rogers, Regional Manager Woodforest National Bank said “We are very pleased to make this donation to such a worthy cause. Helping to eliminate substandard housing in our local community is a very real need in our city”.
Local Habitat for Humanity president, Jerry Benson gave the group of Woodforest employees a status report of their work in the Marshall area. “This donation will be used right away to help complete the current home that we are working on” said Benson. “We are hard at work on our eighth home in Marshall and plan to dedicate it in mid-July. We are very grateful to community-minded companies and employees who take the opportunity to help others in their area receive a simple, safe, and affordable home. Our local Habitat chapter is working hard to reach their goal of building two homes per year to assist those in need to get out of unsafe, deteriorating living conditions”.
“Our local Habitat chapter is always in need of donated supplies, money, and volunteers to help build our homes”, says local Habitat chapter vice-president Bruce Simon. “Without the involvement of caring members of our community such as Woodforest National Bank and Woodforest Charitable Foundation, we would not be able to build the homes that we do”.
You can donate to the local Habitat efforts by mail at PO Box 2009, Marshall TX, 75671 or get additional information on their past and current projects by visiting their website at www.habitatmarshall.org.
