Woodforest Charitable Foundation donates $200 to Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana

Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana Receives $200 Donation

SHREVEPORT, LA – Woodforest Charitable Foundation recently made a $200 contribution to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.

The mission of the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana is to serve as the primary resource for fighting hunger in northwest Louisiana.  The Food Bank's vision is to ultimately end hunger by ensuring a consolidated network of effective food collection and distribution services which provides access to food for the needy.

The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana sorts, warehouses and distributes food to over 100 non-profit organizations in a seven-parish region, which includes Caddo, Bossier, Bienville, Claiborne, Desoto, Red River, and Webster.   Partner organizations distribute the food to needy individuals free of charge.  Local food donations from businesses, individuals, and food drives play a large role in supplying the food needed to provide the over 4.5 million pounds that the Food Bank distributed in 2010.
