Austin, Texas - Big Brothers, Big Sisters of South Texas recently received a $1,500 donation from Woodforest Charitable Foundation and Woodforest National Bank.

Woodforest National Bank branches support the Foundation and their causes through many fundraising events. "The Woodforest Charitable Foundation is pleased to offer support to such a worthy cause.  Woodforest National Bank employees are dedicated to their fundraising efforts which provide the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others," stated Kim Marling, Vice President of Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States. They have been a leader in one-to-one youth service for more than a century, developing positive relationships that have a direct impact on the lives of young people. Big Brothers, Big Sisters serves children, ages 6 through 16, in communities across the country. The South Texas agency provided mentoring to 1,662 children, more than 82,000 hours, in 2008. Their mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors.
