HOUSTON, Texas - Woodforest Charitable Foundation donated $8,000 to Children’s Miracle Network.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has grown dramatically since its inception in 1983 from a televised fundraiser in a small studio to one of the North America's leading children’s charities. The organization was founded by Marie Osmond with two simple goals in mind; to help as many children as possible by raising funds for children’s hospitals and to keep funds in the community in which they were raised to help local children. As of 2011, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4.3 billion, most of which was donated a dollar or two at a time.
Children’s Miracle Network touches the lives of more children and their families than any other children’s charity in the Nation. Whether they suffer from common childhood afflictions like asthma and broken bones, or fight bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids each year.
Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals. Their mission is to generate funds and awareness programs in partnership with and for the benefit of member hospitals/foundations and the children they are privileged to serve. Countless individuals, organizations and media partners unite with Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to help sick and injured kids in local communities. Donations to Children’s Miracle Network create miracles by funding medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children each year.
“You gift will support the work of one of the nation’s most-trusted pediatric hospitals. From its earliest days, Texas Children’s has stood for quality medical care; excellent physician, staff and community education; and cutting-edge medical research. We never forget that it is your generosity that makes this possible,” said Laura Shuford, Vice President of Texas Children’s Hospital.
