Bridgewood Farms receives $5,000 donation from Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

THE WOODLANDS, TX - In support of adults with mental challenges, Woodforest Charitable Foundation recently made a donation of $5,000 to Bridgewood Farms. 

Bridgewood Farms was founded in 1967 as Montgomery County Children’s Center and provides opportunities and lifestyle choices for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.  As a recognized leader in the field, Bridgewood Farms has expanded its programs through the years to meet the changing needs of individuals with disabilities.  The organization is located in Northern Montgomery County where clients thrive in community settings as programs and residential services are available on Bridgewood Farms 53 acre campus.  Comprehensive services are provided to men and women ages 16 and older who become active and valued participants in their communities.  With a vision of providing heart and hope to a community devoted to the challenges of people with intellectual disabilities, Bridgewood Farms mission is to be the premier provider of programs and services to individuals with disabilities in order for them to reach their highest potential and promote personal independence.

Bridgewood Farms provides a full, well-rounded life experience for adults with disabilities - a way to learn, a way to succeed and a way to inspire.  Quality programs, services and opportunities are offered to each individual for the purpose of promoting maximum independence in the least restrictive environment possible.  With the clients as the focus, a person-centered plan that supports choice while addressing issues of health and safety is developed to ensure the most appropriate support and services are in place to assist the individual with maintaining a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle.  Programs offered include; adult continuing education, ceramics, pre-vocation and vocational training, horticulture, cooking classes, a work program, health and physical education , and a social and recreation program.
